Smart Home Automation

Home automation, or smart home, is a system of home devices capable of performing actions and solving certain everyday tasks without human intervention.

Home automation in modern conditions is an extremely flexible system that the user designs and configures independently depending on their own needs. This assumes that each owner of a smart home independently determines which devices to install and what tasks they will perform.

The most common examples of automatic actions in a smart home are automatic switching on and off of lights, automatic correction of the heating system or air conditioner, and automatic notification of intrusion, fire or water leakage.

Home automation is considered as a special case of the Internet of Things, it includes Internet-accessible home devices, while the Internet of Things includes any Internet-connected devices in principle.

Automation is increasingly being introduced into the daily lives of modern people. And if earlier automated production could be considered the pinnacle of progress, now even everyday life, an apartment or a private house, can be quite simply radically improved by bringing the concept of a “smart home” there.

After all, today smart home systems are designed not only to optimize energy costs, but first of all to make a person’s life more comfortable. The possibilities of modern smart home systems will be discussed in our article.

To combine a home theater, lighting control, water supply, video surveillance system, climate control, security and fire alarm, electricity and access control, gas supply and multiroom into one system – this is the task that the smart home system solves today.

Automated systems make it possible not only to promptly monitor and manage all this equipment, but ultimately take care of our health. With the help of sensors, the current state of the air in the room is monitored, and by means of control panels, the operating modes of air conditioners and supply ventilation, underfloor heating and heating are adjusted. That is, the climate is automatically adjusted to the requirements of a person, which are set by presets.

So climate control allows the following. Air quality management depending on the weather outside the window and the time of day. Timely ventilation of premises by controlling heating and opening windows.

Managing the operation of underfloor heating. Maintaining optimal temperature and humidity individually in each room. For example, a food storage room requires its own special climate, which differs from the climate in the living room or kitchen, etc.

Control of temperature, humidity, intensity of fresh air inflow, air purification system and ozonation. Each room should have its own conditions, the most suitable for each family member, taking into account the place in the house where this room is located: some to the north, some to the south – and management in each case will be individual.

Drafts are unacceptable in the nursery, it should be warmer in the bedroom, the bathroom floor should be warmed up in time, and it is not necessary to keep it warm all the time. That is, the control turns out to be optimal so that the energy saving effect would also take place.

The setting varies according to the lifestyle of the family or collective. On weekends, the heat supply to the working rooms is reduced or turned off.

The autonomous heating system of a country house — on the contrary, it turns on for the weekend. The boiler is remotely switched on or switched to economy mode, etc. Everything is rationalized to combine economy and comfort of life. This is especially true for water supply, electricity and heat supply.
